"Rapper's Stereotype" 2008
Written by: Marcus Reid
Music By: Marcus Reid

Verse1 (Spoken word)
In today’s Rap/Hip-Hop Scene the stereotype of a Rap artist has been set. And the parents are complaining they won’t let their kids listen to it.
So let me break this down for yall!
In order to be a Rapper in today’s game, you need to write lyrics about your sexual fantasies, how much you love money, how much you enjoy doing drugs, add a little bit of violence and top it off with at least 8-10 swear words. You’ll be right there! This is today’s profile of a Rap Artist.

What message are we sending to Our Children? Most of the Rap/Hip-hop fan base is children under 18. What message are we delivering to them as they listen to our music? How can the Parents effectively teach there kids about the birds and the bees, when 20 minutes later they’re listening to the full down dirty version, from one of their favorite rappers?

As a Rapper in this music game, it amazes me the content that my fellow artists express. So it looks like it’s on my shoulders, to be that light, in the middle of a dark tunnel, with no end insight.
And to bring that positive Rap, that positive, respectable music, that my grandmother can bob her head to and the young children can learn the words and be inspired.

I use the
Power of the Mic to educate young minds and instill them with morals and life lessons that I’ve learned, when I was kid.

We need to set higher standards in the RAP/HIP HOP Game. And realize that we have the power to change lives through our music…for better or for worse.
Believe it or not GOD has a purpose for each one of our lives.
And I’ve found mine.

Join me and Support Positive Music, Support REID RECORDS,
Support Positive HIP HOP …for our kids sake! I’m Marcus Reid and I’m out.

"For The Children" 2008
Written by: Marcus Reid
Music By: B-Rob

This Song is for our children yall. Listen up! Marcus Reid, real talk
Verse1

Am I’m the only one that feels this way, every song on the radio sounds the same.
Its like they got it that Rap beat on track 3, profanities, sex, crime, Greed all you wanna eat.
But that’s not what I’m hungry for…No, that’s not what I’m looking for.
I want something to fill me up, I want something to build me up for life, to strive for right,
to call my name, when I hurt inside, to calm my fears and end my tears
when the pain is insane for these children that are listening…
Yea, for these children that are listening… Tell me what they hear…

Every second it’s another child. Every second it’s another child.
Every second its another mind, influenced by society  …

Verse2

Seriously, I’m gonna lose my mind, if I hear another rhyme, with the same old lines,
lyrically, and mentally, it’s like gravity, always pulling me down.
I’m running around in circles, trying to figure out what to do.
Guess I gotta let my fairy tales fly. WOOH,  Oh, Oh, oh ,yea
Oh, Oh, Oh, yea Oh, Oh, Gotta let my fairy tales fly…HOOoo
Oh, Oh, Oh, yea, Oh, Oh, Oh Yea, Oh, Oh,  Gotta let my fairy tales fly
I can’t stop the pain. I can’t stand the rain, it’s like it’s after me.
It will never let me go, will never give me peace, until I let yall know…

"I'm Ready to Go" 2008
Written by: Marcus Reid
Music By: B-Rob

Intro
Yo let me tell yall a little something, you don’t become a superstar over night. This game takes time, it takes calculated moves.  And now I’m Ready to Go!

Chorus

I put seven hard years working on my flow.  Steady preppin my name, now I’m ready to go ain’t no stopping my dreams, So I’m a let ya know, once the beat’s on,  then REID’s on
and nothings gonna stop me. I put seven hard years cutting on the floor
Steady preppin my game, knockin on the door. Ain’t no stopping my dreams,
So I’m a let ya know once the beat’s on,  then REID’s on, and nothings gonna stop me
Verse1

Seven years down and seventeen more to go
finally got my flow down but plenty room to grow
This music’s like my artery, if you stop it then my body’s cold.
But I’m seeing thru the light and it’s GOD telling me to GO…
Saying Marcus, hit em wit that R&B, sing it like you can, but be nice to them ladies.
If you feelin FROGGY then hit em with a Power Rap, right em from the wrong tracks and set em on the right path...
WHY NOT, if the rain won’t stop, I keep movin my feet and drop it like it’s HOT…
It don’t matter, the game’s gone change, it’s about that time for yall to know my name!

I’m repping for the glove (MJackson's). I’m repping for my fans always showing me some love. I’m repping for my family that brought me on the scene. Its about that time for yall to know my name.
Repeat Chorus
I put-seven-hard-years working on my flow  Steady reppin my name, Now I’m Ready to Go. Ain’t no stopping my dreams, so I’m a let ya know once the beat’s on,  then REID’s on, and nothings gonna stop me.
I put seven hard years, Cutting on the floor
Steady preppin my game, knocking on the door. Ain’t no stopping my dreams, So I’m a let ya know once the beat’s on,  then REID’s on, and nothings gonna stop me

Verse2

I’m right back at it now let me continue. Rappin wit my passion and hit you with verse two. As soon as I get the vision it’s like mind over matter. The mission will be finished and it doesn’t even matter. My vision’s gonna come to light shining like a star bright removing all the haters from the scene so I can shine right.
I turned from the tragedy, from GOD yes I gotta be, my dream’s now reality so brothas don’t be mad at me. Cause its my time, and I’m about to shine, my mind is my weapon and I will pop it every time.
When I came on the scene, I didn’t see any love, just pain in the game that was fueled by some drugs. The scene is steady dropping and tragedy’s all around me, raw is my rapping, so you brothas gonna feel me…
I ride for my Mission, Thank GOD for the vision,
So if my rhyme don’t rock em, Then the beat gone get em’  Gyeah!

Repeat chorus

"The SUN Tour" 2009
Written by: Marcus Reid
Music by: B-Rob

Intro
Yo, This the Renaissance Man (Marcus Reid) Dedicating this one to Kent Bey.
The SUN tour baby is back underway!

Chorus
The SUN Touuur yea, we are here to pave the way, for all the artists that can say…
The SUN Touuurr yea, so turn the music up, til its live enough, once you feeling us, then stand on up

Verse1
It’s another episode back from a year ago, more from the minds of your neighborhood superheroes, with the city on the line we gotta keep it movin. You know the guns and in the crime can’t keep on shootin, unless we remain oblivious to this. Keep it bottle up inside and put a lid on it. But this my mission and my mission is to pop that cap. So I’mma lead the line and bring the positive back!
Repeat Chorus
You tell me what I can’t do, uh uh, I’mma tell you about I can do, Yea, and I’m setting the stage,
like Obama said Mann, its time for change!  It’s like tic, tac, toe, yall really gone feel my flow!
Come on, lets go

Verse2
I’m speaking to the left, then I’m shouting to the right. If you can’t feel my rhyme then you can’t see the light that shines from above when the cloud’s have parted, but also shines from within when the flesh has parted, from the ways of the world that’s filled with hot thrills that last for only minutes then you left with the bill. Temptation is contagious and will poison the mind but if you tryin to be saved then I will stop on a dime. But if you ain’t ready yet and need some more time then cop my CD so you can listen to my rhymes, then catch me on my next trip down through the city. This the SUN Tour baby and we riding to eternity.
Repeat Chorus
Yo, You tell me what I can’t do, uh uh, I’mma tell you what I can do and what I’m gonna be about, check my set as I ride this one out.  Its like Tic, Tac, Toe, Yall really gone feel my flow
this were its at, Lets Go!

Verse3

Blessed are those that will stand for what’s right. Blessed are those that will stand up and fight for the life of our kinsmen, brothers and sisters, Down to the ground where the kids can listen. Yep
Right to the point, I’mma spit my knowledge, thru the music’s a solution if we just apply the polish.
A polish of PEACE, a polish of HOPE, a polish of LYRICS that will feed the soul. Gyyeah

Repeat Chorus

Bridge

If we don’t try to fly then we won’t ever know...Just how far, just how far, we can rock it.
Even though we not born with wings, that don’t mean we let it go
I grab the mic, I take the stage, and I’m flying

Repeat Chorus

You tell me what I can’t do, Yo, I’mma tell you what I can
Put the world on my shoulders.  It be like I’m carrying boulders…
Verse4 spoken
The S.U.N TOUR means stand up now. If you believe in unity then stand up now.
If you believe in your heart that things can change, then stop screaming like a rebel and enter the game. One life, One love, One passion, making music all day for the masses.
If somebody, anybody feeling me today, Stand up and let me hear yall say  gyeah

Repeat Chorus

Tell me what I can’t do. Uh uh I’mma tell you what I can.
Yo, look into my eyes, I’m rippin and ready and I’m moving up the line.
The money don’t impress me put it down. I’d do this Rap game for free if it saves a mind.
All day and all night long...Positive Hip Hop.

"ThisPlaceofMine" 2003
Written by: Marcus Reid
Music by: Jon Gorr & Marcus Reid

Verse2
It's hard to find the time to step away from life for a little peace of mind.
It amazes me that these crazy streets can withstand everybody driving miles a week.
It’s a part of this mind-game never knowin' when, the world is gonna go up clean into the wind. This world’s unpredictable, time is invisible, we gotta stay strong for each other it's pivotal. The world I see turned crazy and heartless its through these days if your lazy you can’t stop this. Your possibilities lower in the flight. The beauty inside grows cold in the night. Who’s holding up the sign saying come along with me, riding the righteous path yall weaving through the trees. From powers within my sentence begins and when it ends, worlds unite together tight like flynn. The voices surrounding me, they always telling me, just take God’s speed and keep ridin' that beat yall!
Finalchorus
In this place of mine my mind will run free (yea, yeah). The days of sunshine they are never-ending. The people I meet, they are so friendly… And I know, that my soul, will go on to be fine

"WhenI'mFeelingIt" 2003
Written by Marcus Reid
Music by: Marcus Reid

Verse1
The beat drops I talk with flows that don’t stop, I got hits that don’t miss and I plan to shake hips. I flow from the source that extends from the north and it’s sure to mature any person well enough to sort, the truth and the reason of why I make my music, underline my causes and the purpose why I’m doing this. The feeling is real and it’s tough enough to peel, you haters out there here comes the man of steel dog! Now let me include a couple a points of my viewing so you can understand and get the juice from what I’m brewin. So point one, is that I love this game, it’s something intangible that cannot be tamed.
And point two, is the freedom of expression, to teach and preach and drop a rhyme with my a lesson. Process of patience for public relations, its conjured and conformed for this hip-hop nation, and it’s blowing-up...like it never did before. And I’m a keep it rollin on a steady down-slope dogg...You feelin me?

"TRM"
Written by M Reid 2003
Music by: Marcus Reid

[Verse1] Get up, sit up, or just get out of here, as cool as can be the Renaissance is here!  Your mind takes time to digest my full rhymes so when you feelin what i'm dealing we can work it down the line, dogg!   Let me introduce myself.  My name is Marcus Reid, unfaded by the rest, and i'm about to drop in and circle the rim so won't you sit back relax and let these tracks begin dogg. I'm hot like fire, burn your socks up, i'm cocked up and wired, to the start of TRM and let the motion transcend and once my flowin begins i be rollin to the end.  The beat drops non-stop like feet on the sidewalk then comes around the corner BAM!  blowing up your light-spot. Flippin n scrippin as the words come around, i'm pickin and choosin until i get'em all down, to savor the hot flavor, from this raider searching for the lost ark, sharpen up my sabers.  Fast n furious and leaving minds way curious to the art of the rhymin-n-timin you can call me notorious. As i explore the course and grasp the torch, eyes wide searching for this G funk force, it's pure and evermore, the rapping carnivore, captivating minds showing signs of the source.  It's harder to see my hidden philosophy for these energetic, heavily poetic, rhyming analogies. It's finally my que, now here's my debut. Your welcome to view but i suggest it's best to warn you, that it's hard to contain this high-level octane, passion and love, that i bring to the game.  So when it's insane and fans screaming my name, no matter how big the fame, the  game remains the same. Now tell me...
[Chorus] Who is the man that's gonna change up this land...tell me who is it.. T..R..M...MMMM.  Who is the man that's gonna fill the demand...tell me who is it.  T..R..M..MMMM.  Who is the man that's gonna silence the...
