About Reid’s Positive Hip
Hop Program

In May of 2008, I created this program to reach kids at the grade
school level (k-12) when character building and Positive Role Models are so important! And
reach them in a way that is fun and also educational. This program also
demonstrates how the genre of Hip Hop can be used to motivate and inspire
it's listeners contrary to today's current Hip hop direction.

Through Music we can connect and engage with our children like no
other medium can! So my goal is to use my musical talents & abilities to
educate, inspire and set a positive example for our youth!

Motivational speeches combined
with the excitement and energy of Hip Hop Music & Dance creates a powerful
and unique educational Program!
+ Music and the Performing Arts have
tremendous influence on our children. For most teens, music is their world,
it defines their culture and portrays lifestyles and ideals of how the world
is...Is today’s Hip Hop / Rap culture portraying lifestyles that are
positive + or negative -

Part I The Positive Message
(15 mins)
The
challenges that children face inside and outside the classroom are
daunting, and need to be proactively addressed. So Marcus has written a
variety of motivational speeches based on personal experiences and
common challenges that students face and how they can overcome them and
be successful! He continues to research and talk with teachers and
Parents to develop fresh and focused speeches that address today’s
issues and provide guidance and mentorship.

Part II It's Showtime! (15 mins)
Marcus Reid’s
performance drives home the Positive message and leaves a lasting mark
for the students! Memorable songs with meaningful lyrics they can sing
and learn from. A refreshing introduction to Positive Hip Hop Music and
choreography!
Part III Student participation (15 mins)
This interactive
part gives students a chance to be on stage with Marcus, show some of
their talents, learn some dance moves and ask any questions that they
may have. Such as how to make/record music, where I learned to dance,
singing lessons etc. Current Student activity: Dance Instructional - Students learn the
dance steps to "The CUPID SHUFFLE"
